IMPACT OF BAYDEN’S COMING TO POWER ON IRAN

US President

The inauguration of the new US President Joe Biden took place on January 20. Thus, Biden was declared the new leader of America. This event is extremely important for both America and the world. Thus, American policies in the region have a serious impact on Middle Eastern countries such as Iran. Therefore, the American elections were closely watched by Iran.

As a result, Donald Trump’s resignation pleased the Iranian regime the most. Even Iranian officials did not hide the situation and likened the Trump era to a nightmare. It should be noted that the sanctions imposed on Iran endangered the existence of this country. After the sanctions, the Iranian population came under severe economic pressure. The Iranian government said that all the problems in the country were caused by sanctions. However, Iran was not an economically successful country even before the sanctions.

Despite declining financial resources, Iran has not reduced its support for terrorism. The population of the country was still not the priority of the government. Political corruption in this country is not only internal. Opposition groups outside the country have also come under fire. In particular, it is claimed that many dissidents approach the issue from a commercial point of view. Looking at history, we see that Iran has better relations with the American Democratic Party. Thus, during Obama’s presidency, Iran made things a little easier with the BARJAM agreement. The economic consequences of this agreement have benefited the government more than the population.

Thus, Iran increased its power in the Middle East. However, no steps have been taken on human rights. The situation became even more difficult. Western countries have highlighted the economic difficulties in Iran. However, they do not say that the main cause of this issue is the government. Everyone blames Trump’s sanctions on the problems. Some political analysts hope that Biden will behave differently from Obama, especially on human rights. However, Iran has historically proved that it is not in favor of reforms. At the same time, it is unknown who will come to power in the 1400 elections.

Bringing a young and revolutionary man to power by Ali Khamenei could damage relations with the United States. In any case, the elections will be very important for Iran’s future. This situation will also determine the direction of discussions on the nuclear deal.
