Iran’s Statistics Center: Apartment rents have risen by 42 percent

In the summer of 2020, rents for all families who extended their leases increased by an average of 41.2 percent.

The Iranian Statistics Center said in a statement issued on October 10:
“One of the most important areas in the assessment of the consumer price index is the housing sector. This sector includes tenants of housing and maintenance and repair services.”

“In the summer of 2020, the rental price of apartments in urban areas reached 195.8, an increase of 11.8 percent compared to the previous season (175.1).”

The highest seasonal inflation rate of this season is in Hamadan with an increase of 16.2 percent, and the lowest in Sistan and Baluchistan with an increase of 3.1 percent.

In the summer of 2020, the percentage difference in rental prices compared to the same period last year amounted to 28.9 percent, which is an increase of 5.6 percent compared to the current year (23.3%).
