South Azerbaijani Twitter users shared 10,000 tweets on the release of imprisoned Mother Tongue activists.
They demanded the immediate release of activists working to teach their mother tongues and who are currently being held in various Iranian prisons. Twitter users also called on the cultural community of southern Azerbaijan and the world to pay attention to the widespread human rights violations by the Tehran government.
It should be noted that the tweets show the names of Latif Hasani, Abbas Lisani, Alirza Farshi, Tohid Amir Amini, Behnam Sheikh, Hamid Manafi, Kiyanush Asani, Sahand Maali and many other national activists.
It should be noted that for many years, South Azerbaijanis have been fighting peacefully and culturally for the basic human rights, including the right to determine their own future, education in their mother tongue, and the exploitation of economic wealth. However, these demands are being abused by the Tehran government under various pretexts.
National activist Jafar Suleymanzadeh was summoned to the Information Office and threatened
According to the relatives of the activist, 17 of Mordad called Suleymanzadeh, the intelligence department of the Bunab Disciplinary Forces, and asked him to apply to the police department. Police officials did not provide any information on the activist’s appeal, but said they would come and arrest him if he did not do so.
After Suleymanzadeh’s appeal, they want him to hand over his phone. As the activist was not with his phone, the police arrested him, took him home and searched him. After that, the police could not find the phone and returned the activist to the police station.
According to the report, the activist’s arrest was later related to the fact that he went with his friends on a holiday.
It should be noted that the government, which has caused a great deal of dissatisfaction among the people with the continuation of economic shortcomings, and at any moment sees its existence in danger, obstructs the movement of people, threatening the gathering of several people.
