THE COURT OF AMIR CHEMANI WAS HELD

The trial of Tabriz resident and cultural activist Amir Chameni has been held. The activist said on his Twitter page that he had been summoned to court on the basis of a complaint filed against him by the Information Department of the Ashura Sipah.

“Based on the complaint of the Information Department of the Ashura Sipah and the benefactor of the Tabriz court, I was tried in the 2nd Department of the Revolutionary Court of Tabriz on charges of acting against the order,” the activist said.

Amir Chameni has been charged with “spreading false information to irritate public opinion.” The 112th Department of the Tabriz Kayfari Court reviewed the activist’s case in connection with the accusation.

It should be noted that Amir Chamani has been arrested for his cultural activities before. He was sentenced to 6 months in prison on 11 November 1397 by the 1st Department of the Revolutionary Court of Tabriz on charges of “propaganda against the order”.
