Nasir Khulusi has been acquitted

Azerbaijani activist

New reports have been issued on Azerbaijani activist Nasir Khulusi’s protest against the verdicts. Sections 1 and 36 of the East Azerbaijan Court of Appeals have denied the charges against the activist. Thus, the court’s Department No. 1 overturned the activist’s six-month prison sentence on charges of “membership in an independent opposition group in Azerbaijan against the Iranian regime.”

In addition, the 36th Division of the court ruled that the initial opinion on the fine of 20 million rials against Nasir Khulusi, accused of “spreading false news on social networks,” was unfounded.

It should be noted that Nasir Khulusi 23 Azeris were arrested in 1398 in the city of Tabriz. Until the end of the active investigation, 7 Isfands were released from Tabriz Central Prison.

In January 1396, an Azerbaijani activist was sentenced to six years in prison on charges of “propaganda against the regime and violation of national security.” He was sentenced to one year in prison on appeal. Nasir Khulusi was arrested in Tabriz in April of that year and taken to the central prison.

After about four months in prison, the activist was released from the central prison of Tabriz in 1396.
