Political prisoners told their families by telephone that a coronavirus infection had been reported in the jail. Prisoners detained in Section 4 of the House Prison Guarantee Unit said that a person named Hussein Muttaqian tested positive for the coronavirus.
According to the prisoners, they are not allowed to be interrogated due to illness. It should be noted that a number of Azerbaijani activists, including Behnam Sheikh Samanlu and Kianush Aslani Goca Beyli, are detained in this case.
Although the Amnesty International and several human rights organizations have repeatedly called on the government to address the issue, no action has been taken.
