Russia’s Cabinet of Ministers: do not issue visa for Iran

Russia’s Cabinet of Ministers has instructed the Foreign Ministry to suspend the processing and publication of the work, private, educational, tourist and transit visas to Iranian citizens, and to cancel the previously issued permits.

The Cabinet of Ministers of the Russian Federation issued the corresponding order on their website.

“To suspend the receipt of documents, registration and issuance of the work, private, educational, tourist and transit visas to the citizens of the Islamic Republic of Iran in diplomatic missions and consular offices of the Russian Federation; to suspend the receipt of documents, registration, and issuance of transit visas…, as well as to cancel the previously issued visas of the specified category, ” the document says.

The Russian government also stopped issuing electronic visas for Iranian citizens.

“To inform the Islamic Republic of Iran about the measures envisaged, by stressing that they are justified by special circumstances and are only temporary,” the order says.
