Azerbaijan is fighting in its homeland and you have been wounded in the way of truth. Our soldiers are saviors. Armenian soldiers are occupying soldiers. That is the difference. We are fighting on our own land, an Armenian soldier dies on the land of another state – Azerbaijan.
The statement came from President of Azerbaijan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Ilham Aliyev during a meeting with servicemen wounded during the Armenian military provocation on September 27 and treated at the Central Military Clinical Hospital of the Defense Ministry.
The head of state said:
“I want to address the Armenian people so that they do not become hostages of the ugly deeds of their government. Let them hold their government accountable today. They should not send their children to Azerbaijan. What is the Armenian soldier doing in Azerbaijan? We are fighting on our own land. Our soldiers and officers are killed on their own land, wounded on their own land, and we are liberating our lands.”
