4,500 classrooms in West Azerbaijan need to be repaired

The head of the architecture department of the West Azerbaijan Governor’s Office said that 550 classrooms needed to be repaired.

The deputy governor said the madrassa would appeal to philanthropists to meet this need.
Speaking to Mehr News Agency, the head of the architectural department of the West Azerbaijan Governor’s Office said that 82 percent of villages in the region have roads and it ranks 11th in the country in terms of inter-city roads.

According to Aydin Rahmani, there are 5,500 madrassas and more than 24,000 classrooms in Western Azerbaijan, of which 4,550 need to be repaired. According to him, the district needs 5,000 new textbooks, and currently 2,405 textbooks are being built in different parts of the district, and 17 percent of the district budget is allocated for education. According to Rahmani, the average educational space in the West Azerbaijan region is 4.5 square meters, while the average amusement space in the country is 5.18 square meters per student.
There has been a deep poverty for many years in Azerbaijan in general and in Western Azerbaijan in particular. This region of Azerbaijan is one of the most backward in the country, despite its high trade opportunities and underground and surface wealth.
