Dr. Mohammad Hossein Soomi added: Malekan, Miyaneh, Maragheh, Kalibar, Ajabshir, Sarab and Azarshahr cities are in a red situation in terms of coronavirus.
He added: The situation of Marand, Shabestar, Khodaafarin and Bostan Abad cities is also yellow in terms of the number of patients with corona and the rest of the cities of the province, including Tabriz, are in orange.
Dr. Soomi emphasized that currently 700 people are hospitalized in the province due to coronavirus.
The President of Tabriz University of Medical Sciences continued:
“About 40% of the results of coronavirus tests in East Azerbaijan are positive and about 220 corona tests are performed daily in the province.”
He said: “East Azerbaijan experienced the second wave of Coronavirus a month and a half ago and after that the number of patients decreased, but now the slope is gradually rising again.
Dr. Soomi said: “We have three to four coronavirus deaths in the province every day and 50% of corona patients are hospitalized and the rest are treated on an outpatient basis.”
He pointed out that the lack of mass communication between people has the greatest role in preventing corona, noting that the average age of coronavirus in East Azerbaijan has decreased to 53 years and the highest number of patients is 40 years old.
Dr. Soomi pointed out: The average age of corona feet in the province is 69 years and 84% of the feet have an underlying disease.
The President of Tabriz University of Medical Sciences continued: “The number of deaths due to coronavirus among women in East Azerbaijan is approaching men, while previously the death rate of men was twice as high as women.”
