Prison doctors consider it important to send him to well-equipped medical centers.

According to reports, Azerbaijani activist Abbas Lisani’s respiratory tract was damaged and prison doctors ruled that he should be sent to modern medical centers.
Ardabil prison authorities are refusing to send him to hospital.

Yusif Kari, a fellow prisoner of cultural activist and well-known Azerbaijani political prisoner Abbas Lisani, said in a telephone conversation with acquaintances on Monday, December 7, that Abbas Lisani had severe lung problems, severe cough, shortness of breath, high fever, severe muscle aches and seizures. He was treated at the medical center of Ardabil prison last night and this morning.

He said doctors wrote him a report prescribing bromhexine syrup, acetaminophen pill and respiratory spray, and gave him a strong opinion on the need to send him to other medical centers.

The heads of the prison’s medical center said that the prison’s medical facilities were not enough to improve Abbas Lisani’s worsening condition.
