Five Azerbaijani activists were detained in Tikantepe for celebrating the liberation of Karabakh

Tikantepe

Five Azerbaijani activists living in the Tikantepe region of southern Azerbaijan have been detained by Iranian security forces for gathering and celebrating the liberation of Nagorno-Karabakh.

According to reports, on November 13, a group of Azerbaijani activists gathered in one of the streets of Tikantepe to distribute sweets and celebrate the liberation of Karabakh from the occupation of Armenian forces. However, officials from the Sales Control Department attacked the peaceful rally and used force to prevent it.

Shortly afterward, local officials from the Tikantepe region arrived at the scene and dispersed the crowd, arresting Azerbaijani activist Majid Zahidpur and taking him to an unknown location.

An hour later, officials from the Sales Control Department arrested Saib Nahavandi Tikantepe, Abdullah Gulami, and two other people named Sadri in the Tikantepe forest park. Although they wanted to catch more national activists here, they did not succeed.

It should be noted that Azerbaijanis in various cities of South Azerbaijan shared their joy by distributing sweets and creating lighting in connection with the heavy defeat of Armenia against the Azerbaijani Army and the liberation of the occupied territories of Azerbaijan. However, some of them were detained by security forces.

Dozens of cultural activists and ordinary citizens were reportedly summoned to the Information Office and arrested in some cases.
