The head of Zanjan Province Industry, Mining and Trade Organization said: according to estimates, 12 million dollars of Zanjan carpets are exported to countries around the world annually.
Naser Faghfouri, the head of Zanjan Province Industry, Mining and Trade Organization, stated this morning in the meeting of resistance economy: Most factories in Zanjan province use new technology, which use less labor due to the up-to-date equipment.
He stated: There is no 60-year-old factory equipment in Zanjan province and this has helped the export of products.
Referring to the problems of the progress of Iranian carpets, the official said: “This carpet is 2,000 years old and according to the findings, carpet weaving has started in Afshar region in Zanjan province.”
The head of Zanjan Province’s Industry, Mining and Trade Organization continued: Carpet weaving is common in all areas of Zanjan Province and there are currently 21,550 weavers in Zanjan Province.
Referring to the activities of 60,000 permanent, full-time, seasonal and part-time weavers in Zanjan province, Faghfori continued: 70 production workshops are operating in this field.
He stated that the annual production of Zanjan province is 94,000 square meters and its export is estimated at about $ 12 million, adding: the establishment of 90% of carpet weavers in weavers’ houses has reduced the supervision and ordering power of the products.
