82 hectares of Hamadan pastures were burnt to ashes

Department of Natural Resources and Water

The director of the Hamadan Department of Natural Resources and Water said that 82 hectares of pastures burned in 42 fires this year alone.

According to Isfandiyar Khazai, there were 50 percent fewer fires this year than last year. According to him, only 176 hectares of pastures were burned in the first six months of last year. Noting that most of the fires took place in the 28-hectare Kabutarahang, Khazai said that useful advertisements on radio and television were effective in reducing fires.

Every year, especially in the hot months of the year, fires occur in all parts of Azerbaijan. The main reason for the ashes of hundreds of trees in fires is that citizens do not know enough about forest fires. In addition, the lack of necessary firefighting facilities in Azerbaijan and the government’s negligence in this regard have caused many injuries.
