The historical caves of Kunzaq village will soon become a museum and a residential complex

The Director General of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts of Ardabil Province announced plans to turn the caves of the ancient site of Kunzaq village in Sarein city into a museum, reception and accommodation complex.

According to IRNA on Tuesday, Nader Fallahi said at a meeting to review investment projects in the historic village of Kunzaq:

“Investment in this ancient site will be transferred to the Automobile and Tourism Center under a contract to prepare for its transfer to the private sector.”

He announced the completion of the investment in the ancient site of the historic village of Kunzaq and said:

“We are trying to complete the first phase of investment in this site in September this year.”

According to him, in order to complete the investment in the ancient site of the historic village of Kunzeq, the necessary measures and follow-ups are being carried out.

Referring to the existence of two important dimensions in this historical and ancient region, he said: Considering that this village is also a model tourist area along with the historical site, considering these two dimensions, investment projects will be implemented in Kunzeq village. It becomes.

The Director General of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts of Ardabil Province stated: In coordination with the deputies of the General Directorate of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts of Dehyar Province and members of the Islamic Council of the village will follow up on these matters.

Fallahi considered the completion of the tourism infrastructure of the area as the first priority in this area and said:

“The plans and spending of funds in this area should be in such a way that the first phase of the ancient base and its tourism plan will be put into operation in September”.

Kunzaq village is located three kilometers from Sarein city. This village has caves with unique architecture and a history of 2,500 years related to the Parthian period, which is also registered in the list of national monuments of Iran.
