Jafar Rustami-rad is temporarily released again

Evin prison

Turkish activist Jafar Rustami-rad, who was returned to Tehran’s Evin prison after his temporarily leave because of coronavirus about a week ago, has been sent back on leave as part of measures against the coronavirus pandemic.

It should be noted that he returned to Evin prison on the 23rd of Mordad in 1399 after the end of his temporary release. The activist is currently released. He is expected to be released in full, with about 30 days to go before his 13-month prison term.

Rustamirad Tirin 11 was arrested by security forces in 1397 on suspicion of “attending the Babek Qala congress.” The activist was sentenced by the 26th Department of the Revolutionary Court of Tehran to six months in prison. The verdict was upheld by the 36th Division of the Tehran Court.

It should be noted that during the execution of the verdict, the 7-month arrest sentence previously issued by the Revolutionary Court of Tabriz was also executed. He was arrested on the 18th of Isfand in 1391 in the stadium of the “Tractor-Algiers” team of South Azerbaijan and was sentenced to 7 months in prison.

Note that the second wave of the spread of the coronavirus, the concerns of the families of activists and the appeal of human rights organizations for the release of political and ideological prisoners have so far been ineffective.

Several activists are still not allowed to be released, including Latif Hasani, Abbas Lisani, Alirza Farshi, Tohid Amir-Amini, Behnam Sheikh, Kiyanush Aslan, Hamid Manafi-Nadarli and Yusif Kari, among others.
