to 80 percent

According to the latest statistics published by the Parliamentary Research Center, the poverty line of four-member families rose to 80 percent in 1398-99.
According to the center, the decline in per capita income is one of the main factors in increasing the poverty line. According to the report, the poverty line has risen from 2.5 million to 4.5 million.
The average poverty line has risen from 1.5 million to 2 million in the last two years.
It should be noted that in the early 1390s, the poverty line was 1 million and the average national poverty line was 500,000.
Note that, according to official statistics, 30 to 40 percent of the population lives below the poverty line.
Meanwhile, economist Heydar Mostakhdemin Husseini said in February that the poverty line was between 5 million in Iran’s major cities and 1 million to 3 million in other cities.
At the same time, according to the order of the central bank, the inflation rate in 1997 was 31.2 percent and in 1998 it was 41.2 percent.
According to statistics released by the parliament, per capita income fell by 34 percent from 1390 to 1398.
