Abdullah Sadugi and Akbar Muhajiri were released on bail

Turkish activists Abdullah Sadugi and Akbar Muhajiri, who were arrested by Iran for condemning Armenia’s military aggression against Azerbaijan, have been temporarily released from Tabriz prison, according to the GADTB Press Center. The trial of both activists will continue in the Tabriz Revolutionary Court.

The political activists were released on bail on Wednesday.
Iranian security forces detained Abdullah Sadugi at his home on September 23. No charges have been filed against him on what charges.

Akbar Muhajiri was arrested in connection with rallies in support of Karabakh on October 17. The rally in Tabriz demanded the closure of the Iranian-Armenian border checkpoint.

Akbar Muhajiri and many other activists were detained at their homes the day before the rally. Several detainees are still in custody.

At least 200 people have been detained since September 29 in connection with rallies in support of Karabakh in Iran, Azerbaijan, and other regions inhabited by Turks. Many Turkish activists calling for rallies in Tabriz on October 17 and 18 were detained by Iranian security forces. Some citizens were detained during the rally.
Although many of the activists detained at the rallies have been released on bail, the trial will continue.
