Mehdi Mahmudian was arrested on the basis of Sipah’s complaint.
According to the Emtedad news website, he was arrested today for failing to provide bail. Sipah’s deputy for legal and parliamentary affairs, Mehdi Mahmudian, sued Mehdi Majmudian for sharing a tweet.
The tweet was related to an interview given to IRNA by Admiral Habib Sayyari, deputy coordinator of the Iranian army.
The interview was carried out at the request of the army, but was met with strong opposition from the Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Information, and was deleted from the IRNA website a few hours later.
