December 31 is the day of resistance and unity of Azerbaijan
From 1813 until today despite all the efforts of the enemies to divide the territory of Azerbaijan and create a rift between the nation, the great event of Solidarity Day in 1989 is the first big step towards national unity. This is the day when Azerbaijan removed all the fences on the Araz river path which were like a chain on the body of this land and took a big step towards national unity. The Day of National Resistance and Unity is celebrated with great enthusiasm every year by more than 50 million Azerbaijanis, and this historic day has strengthened national solidarity and consciousness.
The second (44-day) battle of Karabakh in 2020 and the proud victory in it, along with the liberation of the occupied territories of the homeland, gave a new spirit and life to the thought of national unity and the formation of a great and united Azerbaijan. The support of thousands of South Azerbaijani for the Karabakh struggle and the holding of support rallies in many cities, angered the Iranian regime and led to the arrest of dozens of Azerbaijani activists.
Quantitative and qualitative progress of the national movement of Azerbaijan on the one hand and the power and development of the Republic of Azerbaijan in many ways, especially the military dimension, has created new hope among the Azerbaijani people for the establishment of a united Azerbaijan, and all the efforts and sabotage of the Persian racist regime(Iran) has reached a dead end. The Day of Resistance and National Unity has also played a very strategic and geopolitical role in building the unity of the Turk states.
We, the political parties and organizations of South Azerbaijan, hereby congratulate all Azerbaijanis on this proud and historic day.
