Alireza Farshi Dizjikan, a Turkish civil activist who has been serving his sentence in Evin Prison since July 22, was transferred to the Greater Tehran Prison this morning, September 9, according to reports received by the Iwanati News Group.

Accordingly, Mr. Farshi was transferred from Ward 8 of Evin Prison to Ward 1 of the 5th Brigade of the Greater Tehran Prison at 10:00 AM today, Tuesday, September 9th.

The Azerbaijani civil activist announced his transfer to the Greater Tehran Prison during a telephone call with his family today, Tuesday, September 9th. Mr. Farshi is currently being held in quarantine along with 10 other prisoners.

High population density, lack of health issues and lack of sanitary items such as masks and disinfectants have exposed Mr. Farshi to the Coronavirus.

On the other hand, the family of Mr. Farshi Dizjikan is increasingly concerned about the health of this civil activist due to the non-observance of the principle of separation of crimes in the Greater Tehran Prison.

“Alireza Farshi Dizjikan” along with “Behnam Sheikhi Samanloo” and “Hamid Monafi Nazarlou (Nadarli)” were arrested on July 22, 2016 in Tehran and transferred to Evin Prison to serve their sentences.

Earlier, Branch 54 of the Tehran Court of Appeals issued a verdict against “Akbar Azad, Alireza Farshi, Behnam Sheikhi and Hamid Monafi Nadarli”; Four Turkish activists were sentenced to two years in prison and two years in exile for attending World Mother Language Day.
