The northern balcony of the tomb of Sheikh Shahabaddin Ahari is in danger of destruction

7th century

Unfortunately, this historical monument is in a bad condition due to the carelessness of the Iranian regime.

The monument is one of the most prominent historical sites of Garadagh and was built in the city of Ahar during the Safavid period and most likely during the reign of Shah Abbas I. The tomb of Sheikh Shahabaddin Ahari, a sage and poet who lived in the 7th century AH, is also in this place.

The monument, located in the southern Azerbaijani city of Ahar, has the potential to be registered globally, mainly because of its unique and magnificent architecture. However, this historical work has been severely damaged in recent years and due to current negligence.

Unfortunately, during the first Pahlavi period, many places, such as the front door of the building, were destroyed, and now only his paintings are available. The regime of the Islamic Republic takes a similar approach to the historical regions of non-Persian nations, and attempts are made to destroy such historical artifacts.
