Mongolian President placed under quarantine

After returning from China

Numerous countries have reported their first cases of coronavirus, with major outbreaks registered across Europe and Asia.

Mongolian President Khaltmaagiin Battulga has reportedly been quarantined after returning from an official visit to China. According to AKIpress, the president and his delegation were isolated in the second ministerial hospital in the Mongolian capital of Ulaanbaatar.

Battulga was the first head of state to travel to China since the beginning of the coronavirus outbreak, meeting President Xi Jinping in Beijing to discuss joint efforts against the infection.

Since it was first identified in Wuhan in December, the deadly virus has infected over 82,000 people in around 44 countries, killing at least 2,800. In Iran, the Vice President, Deputy Health Minister, and several MPs were diagnosed with the coronavirus, while other countries in the Middle East have also reported new cases in recent days.
