Himmati has talked about steps taken toward purchasing Coronavirus vaccine

Abdul Nasir Himmati

“Iran has transferred 16.8 million doses of coronavirus vaccine. The transfers were made with the permission of OFAK through three banks in Turkey, Europe and one branch of the Bank of Iran.

This opinion was expressed by the Governor of the Central Bank of Iran Abdul Nasir Himmati. He said that Iran’s money blocked in South Korea would be used to buy coronavirus. But South Korea did not cooperate on the issue. Iran was asked to make a commitment on the transfer of money.

“We had to transfer 180 million euros through the American bank JP Mogrgan. Therefore, we did not agree. Because those funds had to be converted into dollars and transferred to the Swiss bank in Europe. American banks would block money as usual. “A Turkish bank has helped Iran with the funds needed for the vaccine,” Himmati said.
