However, power outages continue in a number of major cities. A statement from the West Azerbaijan Electricity Distribution Company said the increase was due to increased gas consumption. It should be noted that electricity supply has been suspended in Azerbaijani cities such as Urmu and Tabriz in recent days.
Iranian officials have not commented on the situation. According to local sources, the main reason for the cuts is that foreign companies are increasing the cost of electricity for the production of electronic money, such as Bit Coin.
