“156 people died in traffic accidents in Ardabil province over the past eight months. 103 of them were victims of the events on the Ardabil-Mugan road in the north of the province.
The statement came from Ardabil Province Traffic Police Commander Seyid Mohammad Safavi. He said in his speech at the meeting of the Ardabil Provincial Road Safety Commission:
“Most of the accidents were caused by cars,” he said. The total number of passenger cars is 72 percent. The main reason for the incident is speeding. 79 percent of those killed in these incidents were men. 47% of them are between 21 and 40 years old.
Farzad Galandari also spoke about the situation. He said that proper management should be organized by the responsible departments. According to the decision of the Milli Majlis, the transportation of the bodies is the responsibility of the Emergency Department, the Red Crescent and the Provinces. Together, these three departments must make the necessary referrals. Qalandari stressed that decisions should be made to reduce traffic accidents. He suggested that temporary work be done until the decisions are made.
