Five political prisoners accused of “insurrection” and “membership in groups opposed to the Iranian government” are likely to be executed in Zahedan prison.
Prisoners’ lawyer Mustafa Nili wrote about this on Twitter. The lawyer called on the Iranian court to suspend the execution of the death sentences, as well as to allow these people to be tried again.
He said at least 10 people had been sentenced to death in Zahedan prison on charges of “armed insurrection against the government” and “membership in groups opposed to the Iranian government.”
