Mirali Seyid Gumi, the head of the Department of Environmental Protection of the Varzigan region of East Azerbaijan, said, “A person who hunted and tortured a lynx belonging to a rare cat family and violated the law was arrested in a village of the Varzigan region.
After the residents of the district reported about this issue, the officials of the Department of Environmental Protection immediately began the operation and recognized the violator.
The person who hunted and harmed the lynx has been identified and will be handed over to the courts after a preliminary investigation.
