Impossibility to renovate Tabriz buses due to problems caused by sanctions

The CEO of Tabriz and Suburbs Bus Company, announced that it is impossible to modernize the buses due to the problems caused by the sanctions.

Iman Ghanizadeh, noting that 82% of the fleet is owned by the private sector, said:

“Since 1995, due to oppressive sanctions and financial constraints, the possibility of buying buses from domestic bus factories or importing buses despite the support of the council and Tabriz Municipality and we have not had continuous follow-ups. Bus policy is towards rebuilding existing buses;”

Currently, 35 buses are being rebuilt, which will be completed in the next six months.Regarding the performance of Vahed Company in dealing with the corona outbreak, he said:

“Since the onset of corona disease last year and in order to protect the health of citizens, we have witnessed a 45-day shutdown of public transport, and after that the bus fleet operated in accordance with instructions.” Sanitation, disinfection of buses and stations is done in cooperation with the municipal services.

Ghanizadeh added: “All stations, stalls, and buses in the fleet are disinfected continuously and daily. Also, the misting device is located in the bus terminals, which disinfects the buses at the end of each service.”
