Iranian security forces have detained 40 national activists in support of Azerbaijan

The exact number of people arrested at rallies in support of Karabakh is unknown.

Activists participating in the protests told ANT that security forces detained 40 national activists at the rallies. According to the report, some activists were arrested either at their homes or near the Azerbaijani consulate.

Despite serious pressure from the security forces of the Tehran government, on the 26th of January, South Azerbaijanis held rallies in various cities in support of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the army.

The rally in Tabriz took place in front of the consulate of the Republic of Azerbaijan. At the same time, security forces arrested many national activists.

The names of 8 detainees, including Rahim Sasani, Hakim Ahmadi, Sadulla Sasani, Yasemin Zafari and Rasul Razavi, have been announced. However, witnesses at the rally told ANT that the names of the activists were not yet known, but that more than 20 activists had been arrested during the rally.
