Urmu MP protested against Iranian television calling Karabakh an “Armenian settlement”

Ruhullah Hazratpur

Ruhullah Hazratpur, a member of the Iranian parliament, criticized the country’s television for calling the Karabakh region of Azerbaijan an “Armenian settlement.”

The MP said in a letter to the head of the Iranian Radio and Television Organization, Abdulali Ali Asgari:

“Based on Iran’s support for the world’s Muslims and Khamenei’s statements that Karabakh is an integral part of the Islamic world, we expect Iranian Radio and Television to play an active role in dealing with the oppressed and Shiite population of Karabakh.”

“Unfortunately, Iranian Radio and Television called occupied Nagorno-Karabakh an Armenian settlement on Sunday, July 23, at 21:00, which is far from the historical, political and social reality. This region belongs to Muslims and Shiites, and it will be so, ”Hazratpur added.
