According to the report, the cleric of the National Movement of Azerbaijan Hojatulislam Abdul-Aziz Azimi-Gadim and national activist Ali Bagiri were summoned to the clergy court.

It should be noted that Hojjat-ul-Islam Azimi-Qadim was sentenced by a clergy court to 18 months in prison and 10 years of wearing a clerical robe in 84 for attending a ceremony to commemorate the Constitution. Hojjat-ul-Islam was also released in 1391 after being detained for seven months for protesting against Iran’s support for Armenia.

It should be noted that Amnesty International issued three separate statements on August 24, 2005 – May 4, 2006 and October 27, 2006 on Hojjat-ul-Islam Abdul-Aziz-Azimi-Qadim.
