Hamzeh Darvish, a Sunni Turkish prisoner, reportedly came under pressure from the Ministry of Intelligence by sending an audio file from the Lakan prison in Rasht, according to Evaneti News Group.

Mr. Darvish, who is one of the Sunni Turks of Talesh religion in Gilan province, has been detained in Ward (Andarzgah) 8 of Lakan prison in Rasht since Monday, July 21, 2016, in protest of non-observance of the principle of separation of crimes and keeping him among dangerous criminals and requesting his return to Rajai Shahr Prison in Karaj has gone on a hunger strike.

In an audio file obtained by Ianati, the Babian Sunni prisoner said that security forces at the Ministry of Intelligence had repeatedly threatened to kill him inside the prison: “They say that if I do not cooperate with them, they will inject me with AIDS, hepatitis and then “He died of coronation.”

Hamzeh Darvish adds: “On the 4th of August, by the order of the Gilan prosecutor, Mr. Allah Nouri, I was forcibly transferred from solitary confinement to Hall 8 of Lakan Prison. About the twentieth day of my hunger strike, my parents also went on a hunger strike in support of me at home, until a few days ago, on the twenty-seventh day of my strike, the Rasht Intelligence Office took me to a semi-dark room and handcuffed me. And they blindfolded him. They wet the floor of the room and put me in the middle of the room and then started beating me. They got water again and started beating me again. “They repeated this several times until I was handcuffed and kicked. I was handcuffed and kicked in the room so that I could not sit or move. I had to stay in the same position.”

In recent years, Hamzeh Darvish has repeatedly protested against the filing of cases and obtaining forced confessions, and has said that he has given in to forced confessions under pressure from Rasht intelligence agents.

“I was asked to come in front of the camera and say that I had not announced a hunger strike from the beginning, I came to Lacan Prison at my own request and went to Hall 8 at my own request,” he said. “I went to express my disgust with the sites that cover my news and say that everything that has been published about me is a lie and that they are fabricating news on their own.”

In 2016, Branch 28 of the Revolutionary Court of Tehran, headed by Judge Moghiseh, sentenced Hamzeh Darvish to 15 years in prison on charges of “propaganda against the regime” and “acting against the national security of the country.”
