This statement was made by the commander of the traffic police of Western Azerbaijan, Colonel Kemal Husenzade, speaking at a meeting of the traffic council.
According to him, 10 percent of accidents in the region occurred on the roads of Maki. Unfortunately, the number of fatalities rose from 47 in 1997 to 57 in 1998.
It should be noted that the city of Maki has a population of 100,000 and is located in the north of Western Azerbaijan.
