SARA TURI CALLED TO THE REVOLUTIONARY COURT OF TABRIZ

Azerbaijani activist, writer Sara Turi was summoned to the 2nd Department of the Revolutionary Court of Tabriz. An e-mail sent to the activist asked him to arrive at the department at 09:00. According to reports, Turi Shahid Gazi Tabatabayi was charged by the court with “violation of public order and peace.”

It should be noted that the activist was summoned to the Revolutionary Court of Tabriz at the beginning of the month. Sara Turi, who has been repeatedly harassed by security forces, is known for her work on children’s literature and social issues.

It should be noted that a rally was held in Tabriz on May 27 to protest Iran’s policy on Karabakh. Sarah Turi and many other national activists have been arrested for participating in the protests. Turi was released on bail on January 2 in exchange for a 190 million toman license. At least 10 women were reportedly arrested during rallies in Tabriz.
