NATIONAL ACTIVIST LATIF HASAN SENTENCED TO 6 YEARS OF ARREST

9-year prison

Well-known national activist of South Azerbaijan Dr. Latif Hasani’s 9-year prison sentence has been reduced to 6 years. This decision was made on the 18th of Dey 1399 by the Reconstruction Department No. 11 of the Tabriz Court. Latif Hasani was arrested by Iranian security forces in 1391 on charges of being the “head of the New Gamoh.”

He was arrested together with engineers Mahmud Fazli and Yurush Mehralibeyli, Shahram Radmehr and Behbud Gulizade. Hasani served two years in Tabriz and Tehran, and six years in the Rajaishehr prison in Karaj. It should be noted that the activist was sentenced to 9 years in prison by the 3rd Department of the Revolutionary Court of Tabriz.

However, he was sentenced to eight years in prison under Article 134 of Iran’s Administrative Code. Thus, according to the latest verdict of the Department of Reconstruction, the national activist was sentenced to more than 2 years in prison. He must now be released unconditionally.
