The Turkish Defense Ministry issued a statement demanding the fulfillment of the terms of the agreement between Azerbaijan and Armenia

According to the report of the ANT Television News Department, the Turkish Ministry of National Defense issued an official statement on 15.11.2020 demanding the implementation of the terms of the peace agreement signed by Azerbaijan, Armenia, and the Russian Federation on 10.11.2020.

Turkish National Defense Ministry spokeswoman Nadida Shabnam Aktop said in a video shared on social media, insisting on the implementation of the terms of the agreement:

“We are closely monitoring the return of all occupied territories to Azerbaijan, the restoration of peace and stability in the region at all times, and we will not allow any compromise.”

Presumably, the tripartite agreement of 15.11.2020 provided for violations and delays in the return of the Kalbajar region, and in this very important official statement, which shows that Turkey is determined to protect the interests of its ally the Republic of Azerbaijan, Shabnam Aktob added:

“We reiterate that if necessary, we will provide all kinds of support to Azerbaijan, without hesitation.”

A spokesman for the Turkish Ministry of National Defense concluded:

“We emphasize once again that the war in Azerbaijan is our war, the joy is our joy, the fate of Azerbaijan is our destiny.”

It should be noted that Hikmet Hajiyev, Assistant to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan – Head of the Foreign Policy Department of the Presidential Administration of the Republic of Azerbaijan, said at a briefing on 15.11.2020 that the expulsion of civilians from the Kalbajar region was extended to 25.11.2020. The extension was requested through Russia due to the difficult weather conditions in Kalbajar and the lack of only one road – the Zod-Vardenis road and the capacity of this road, and the Republic of Azerbaijan agreed to Armenia’s request on the basis of humanism.
