Burning of fallen trees in the vineyards of Malekan

Malekan

Malekan is the center of grape production in the province. Last year, 233 thousand tons of grapes were produced and marketed in this city.

Due to the existence of many vineyards and high production of grapes in this city, many wastes of grape tree pruning are left annually.

Every year, thousands of vineyards in Malekan remain as waste in the hands of gardeners and are eventually burned along the roads. The solution to this problem that Malekani gardeners are struggling with is to build a chipboard factory and set up a wood industry.

There is no wood industry in this city, but it can be used to make a lot of money from hair loss. This will also improve the economic situation of the city.

Malek gardeners say they have to burn grape trees every year because they are neither efficient nor beneficial for them and only cause insects to accumulate and damage other trees. But by using the trunks and branches of these trees in wood factories and workshops, you can both benefit and use these wastes in an effective way.

Gardeners emphasize that in the surrounding cities such as Shahin Dej, Takab and Miandoab, there is an active chipboard factory and trees are used in these factories, but there are no factories in Malekan city.

Hassan Alivand, director of the Malekan Agricultural Jihad, told ISNA: “Every year, about 25,000 tons of waste from garden pruning is produced in Malekan, but so far these wastes of grape trees in the city have not been very important.”

He adds: “These tree wastes are sometimes used in industries other than wood, such as the coal industry, but they are not as well used in this industry as they should be.”

He continues: “In the past, wood was not very valuable and tree waste did not have a market at all, but now, due to the lack of wood and the issue of not cutting down trees in the forests of Arasbaran, wood has become valuable in the province.”

Alivand adds: “By burning wood waste, their ashes would be turned into fertilizer, but now we want it to be used in the processing and wood industries instead of fertilizer.”

“In this regard, we welcome all investors who are eager to build a factory or wood workshop and wood industry to make the best use of this waste,” he said.
