Seyd Fuad Hashimi, head of the Beykendi Fire Department in the West Azerbaijan region, said on May 16 that a fire broke out in a number of trees in the Baykendi Kiverash tourist area.
Residents called 125 last night in connection with the incident. Then a team from the Fire Center No. 2 was sent to the scene. 80 trees and greenery were burnt in the incident. The fire was extinguished and the spread was prevented.
“Every year, during the heat, the weeds in the area dry up and there is a fire,” said Hashemi. He said.
It should be noted that Kiverash tourism and forest park is located on the Beykendi-Kosa road and covers 50 hectares.
