Chinese is taught in a country where the mother tongue is banned

Cheshmandaz

Ali Akbar Ruh Nawaz, the director of Ardabil’s Cheshmandaz magazine, reacted to the Iranian Ministry of Education’s report on teaching Chinese. RuhNavaz writes on his social page:

“Former Education Minister Mohammad Bathaii called the issue of mother tongue education in some areas very dangerous, because children learn their mother tongue at home and the official language should be taught in a madrassa.

Now, Deputy Foreign Minister Ali Mohebbi has announced that Chinese will be taught in addition to English. “While China, English and German are preventing their countries from converting their scientific languages to other languages in order to preserve their mother tongues, Iranian educators want to make Iranian scientific Chinese Chinese in order to reduce the influence of English,” Ruh Nawaz said.
