“The area of ​​this city is 1,400 hectares, of which 70 hectares are obsolete city buildings,” said Javad Maiyati, the mayor of the port of Astara.

According to his body, part of Qanbar Mahalla, Nahani Mahalla, Tala Seyfi, Shamsinijad Street, Hamza Bey Mahalla and Huseyniye Mahalla are areas with outdated buildings in Astara.

“We held a meeting with the heads of the responsible departments of the city and examined the implementation of 6 plans for the reconstruction of the city, including the improvement of the pedestrian crossing in the Coastal Market, the protection wall from the Murdab River, Marzdaran Alley and so on.

At this meeting, it was decided to build a pedestrian crossing in the Coastal Market, a protective wall from the Murdab River. The remaining proposals will be put forward at future meetings. The construction of the Sattarzadeh Sports Hall has been approved earlier, and we are waiting for the final decision on this design,” he said.

It should be noted that Astara, a border town, has a population of 51,579 and is located next to the Republic of Azerbaijan.
