MOHAMMED HEYDARZADEH’S CASE SENT TO COURT

Azerbaijani activist

The case of Azerbaijani activist Mohammad Heydarzadeh, who supported the liberation of Karabakh, has been sent to court. Thus, the 16th department of the “Beheshti” Ghazali District of Tabriz issued a final decision on the activist’s case and sent the case to the Tabriz Revolutionary Court. The case will be reviewed by the court’s department No. 1.

It should be noted that Mohammad Heydarzadeh was detained by Iranian security forces during a protest rally in Tabriz against Iran’s logistical and arms support to Armenia in the Karabakh war. He is accused of “gathering and colluding to act against the internal security of the country,” as well as “violating public order.”

Iranian intelligence officials detained more than 150 South Azerbaijani Turks during the protests. Most of these individuals were physically abused by security forces during their detention.
