NATIONAL ACTIVIST ABBAS LISANI STARTS HUNGER STRIKE

Azerbaijani political activist Abbas Lisani went on a hunger strike on Jan. 18 to support Yusif Kari, as well as to protest the prison guard’s treatment of political activists. It should be noted that it was decided to release Abbas Lisani on the instructions of the judge in exchange for a certificate worth 800 million tomans. However, the activist was not sent to court under the pretext of not receiving a written order.

It should be noted that Yusif Kari wrote an application to the prison authorities on December 8 last year regarding the medical examination. The prison’s uncle Sepehri called the activist to his notebook. He made insulting remarks against political activists and said he did not recognize their rights. Kari Sepehri has gone on a hunger strike due to insults and insults, as well as the fact that she was not transferred to her prison. It became known that the activist started a dry strike on the 18th of January along with the hunger strike. However, Kari’s release was suggested by Ardabil Dadsita Seyid Abdullah Tabatabai.

It should be noted that many prisoners in Ardabil prison were released due to the lack of coronavirus transmission and treatment. Kazim Ebadi, a 33-year-old Azerbaijani prisoner from Ardabil, died at the Imam Hospital after being sent to a medical facility late.

Yusif Kari was one of the first prisoners to report the spread of the coronavirus in the Ardabil prison. This information was refuted by the head of the Master’s Prisons Department. But a few days later, the situation with the coronavirus in the prison became dangerous. Health personnel were called to the prison in connection with this situation.
