The governor of the Astara region said: “The third international bridge between Iran and Azerbaijan in the Gilan region will be built over the Astarachay.”
Hasan Rustamzad said that the implementation and construction of four major international projects are underway in the Astara port region.
He stressed that the construction of the Astara-Rasht railway line is the most important railway project in the country at Gilan. “A 10-kilometer section of this railway line falls in the Astara region.
Along with this project, Rustamzad added that the construction of grain and oil terminals within the boundaries of the international railway port is underway: “The Republic of Azerbaijan has invested $ 60 million in the implementation of these projects.”
He also spoke about the creation of new jobs with the implementation of the project: “In the near future, the foundation of the third international bridge between Iran and Azerbaijan will be laid for the passage of transit trucks across the Astarachay.”
