The fire started in the village of Hush and continues around the fortress of Avars. Due to the large area of the fire, it was possible to see it from the city of Qalaibar.
According to the information we received, the fire was extinguished by the local population and the Kaleibar climbers’ group, as the relevant authorities were not ready for the fire.
Due to the impossibility of telephone connection with the fire area, it is difficult to obtain information about the incident. However, according to Ali Amiri-Rad, the governor of Khodafar district, 80 percent of the fire has been extinguished. According to the head of the East Azerbaijan Crisis Department, Mohammad Bagir Hunarbar, the incident is currently under the control of firefighters.
