Speaking to reporters, Abulgasim Sultani, director general of the East Azerbaijan City and Road Assault Department, said that one percent of the vacant houses in the country belong to East Azerbaijan.

At present, the number of vacant houses is estimated at 160,000 units, which means that the investment has not been distributed fairly and has become a factor in trade.
According to the statistics of 1395, the number of citizens living in the city of East Azerbaijan was 2.8 million. If we take into account that the population growth of the district is less than 1 percent, it is predicted that by 1400 the urban population of the district will reach 2 million 982 thousand people. Until 1395, there was a shortage of 32,763 houses in the district. This figure will reach 57,419 units in 1400.
