Azerbaijani activist Sahand Maali was not allowed to be released on bail

South Azerbaijani activist

Although the family of South Azerbaijani activist Sahand Maali provided bail, Izadi Sarab, a prison warden and court bailiff, was not allowed to be released after consulting with security forces.

This happens when his relatives are worried that maybe he is infected with the Coronavirus in prison.

It should be noted that Sahand Maali is serving a one-year sentence in Sarab Prison. The activist was convicted of two similar charges of “propaganda against the system.”

The active case was released on 98/10/25 with the amendment of Article 134 of the Mujazat Law. However, on 99/4/10, court officials re-arrested the activist in the name of a clear violation of the law.

It should be noted that Maali’s lawyer avoided his position as a result of pressure from security forces.
