Azerbaijani political prisoner Siyamak Mirzayi protested in support of Yusif Kari detained in Ardabil prison. Thus, Mirzai, who is being held in Tehran’s Evin prison, has announced that he will go on a hunger strike from the 1st of Bahman. As reported, Abbas Lisani also went on a hunger strike to support Yusif Kari. He said that from today, along with the famine, he will start a dry diet.
It should be noted that national activist Yusif Kari is on the 8th day of the hunger strike. On January 17, he went on a hunger strike along with a famine. The activist stressed that he did so in order to protest against the treatment of political prisoners by prison officials, as well as to protect the rights of activists. According to the report, Kari was taken to the health department of the prison yesterday due to his poor condition.
Yusif Kari was one of the first prisoners to report the spread of the coronavirus in the Ardabil prison. The activist was punished and transferred to another part of the prison.
