Ali Safayirad told Fars News: “Last year, 124 people died as a result of drug use in the region, which is 33 percent more than in 1398, when the death toll was 93.”
He added: “Of the total number of deaths from drug addiction in 1398, 118 were men and 6 women, which is an increase of 29 men and 4 women compared to those who died in 1397.”
According to Safayirad, 12 people died from drugs in the month of Isfand in 1398, which is an increase of 3 people compared to the month of Isfand in 1397.
“In 1397, the total number of deaths from drug use in the East Azerbaijan region was 93, and four of them were women,” he said.
