LATEST STATUS OF ARAB ACTIVISTS ARRESTED IN DENMARK

Yaqub Hurr al-Tosteri

Yaqub Hurr al-Tosteri, a spokesman for Al-Nizal and director of Ahwazana TV, wrote a second letter from a Danish prison.

He stressed in the letter that he continued his struggle:

“We will not hesitate to fulfill our duty, we will not violate our principles. There is no benefit for those who are afraid of European prisons and abandon their national motives and principles. Our demands are the demands of our people, and it belongs only to them.”

We do not regret what we did. We are accompanied by the martyrs Ali, Abdul Amir, Qasim, Malik, Abdullah and Risan. We share the pain of Azerbaijanis, Kurds, Baluchis and those who want their freedom in this land, “he said in a letter.

According to the Ahvaz Human Rights Organization, Yagub Hurr Tastari fled to Denmark in 2007 to escape persecution by the Iranian regime. The court has not yet been able to confirm the charges against him. Tastari was reportedly prevented from defending himself in front of the media and public opinion. This caused him to fast to death on the eighth day. According to the report, the defense appealed to the court regarding the issue of speaking to the media, but was rejected. The international community and human rights organizations in Europe have called for solidarity with Tastari’s demands.

“The judge must decide whether a 39-year-old man will speak to the press about his support for espionage and terrorism,” said lawyer Carolyn Normana. Habib Jabr, Nasir Jabr, Isa Fakur are also among those arrested in Savari. It should be noted that a rally was held for these four protesters in front of the Danish Embassy in Berlin. They belong to the ASMLA group fighting for freedom in the Iranian city of Ahvaz. They are also accused of spying for Saudi Arabia in Denmark. In June, they were accused of raising millions for terrorism in Iran, although these activists do not accept it.

The case is related to another case. A Norwegian-Iranian man was convicted earlier this year of helping plotting to assassinate one of three inmates in prison. It is said that the Iranian special services are behind the plans. The Norwegian-Iranian was sentenced to seven years in prison and deported from Denmark.

At a hearing in Roskilde Court last week, Judge John Larsen ruled that the three protesters should remain in jail until September 3. The prosecutor’s office has not yet charged the people, saying the trial will begin in the spring. It was announced that the case will be extended by 30-50 processes.
